Château Lynch-Bages 2000

I have most of the Grand cru Bordeaux wines available, however, I am not into price wars and these wines are extremely price sensitive. When you buy one and think you are getting a great deal, the thing you have to remember is that the knowledge provided by someone like me is half the value. There is no point in drinking these wines and not having a sense of place, I guarantee that after drinking one of these wines and having spoken to me about it, the experience will be a thousand times better to your benefit. Please contact me if interested in the experience.   (646)322-3658

Character and style of Lynch Bages

The style of wine at Chateau Lynch Bages blends power, concentration, style and charm. In the middle between traditional and modern styles, the wine is best when it’s concentrated, offering ripe cassis, tobacco, wet earth and truffle flavors with firm tannins.

The wine ages extremely well. In the best vintages, 30, 40 or 50 years of evolution is possible. Lynch Bages is a wine for patient wine lovers, as it often needs 15-20 years in the top vintages to show its best.

Chateau Lynch Bages needs time in the cellar before it can truly be enjoyed, as the wine is quite powerful and tannic in its youth. Young vintages can be decanted for an average of 2-4 hours, or more. This allows the wine to soften and open its perfume. Older vintages might need very little decanting, just enough to remove the sediment.

Chateau Lynch Bages is usually better with at least 10-15 years of bottle age. Of course that can vary slightly, depending on the vintage character. Chateau Lynch Bages offers its best drinking and should reach peak maturity between 15-50 years of age after the vintage.
