Mas De Bressades 2018 Les Vignes De Mon Pere, Costieres De Nimes (South of France)

If you love cabernet and big fruit with elegance, this is a find...

Les Vignes De Mon Pere, means the vines of my father. Cabernet-Syrah... 70-30 split.  Wow, what a blend, and it's 2018 to boot.  You cannot get any better.  This is spectacular.  I'm sorry I cannot find the vocabulary to describe these wines from Nimes, the Roman town in the delta of the Rhone river.  Stupendous red and dark fruit, barrel aged, sumptuous, served fresh at 62F with a good Kobe steak it will knock you on your derriere...

Seriously, 2018 is a year that was is similar to 1929, 47, 61, 66, 1982, 2009, and 2010.  You will love this wine.  There, look, I have given you some information that most don’t know, the best years… Vintage means a lot in France the years like 2013 or 2007, 2011, for example are called Les Annees Classiques… But the better years are called les beaux millesimes… The last few years in Europe have seen more sunshine which leads to photosynthesis, and more sugar in the fruit.  There has also been less rainfall, which in turn leads to less fungal infection and cleaner grapes with a higher phenolic ripeness, the perfect storm.  This wine is ready to drink but will cellar well for a good few years.  Mas de Bressades is a fantastic estate, and I am proud to partner with them.  Bonnes Fetes...
